Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to:
- Read and discuss non-fiction-based works of various lengths;
- Recognize and use various modes of writing in order to develop persuasive essays;
- Make proper use of MLA Style in-text parenthetical citations;
- Read and discuss literary works of various lengths;
- Recognize and use various modes of writing in order to develop literary analytical essays;
- Demonstrate and refine communication skills needed for careers in business and industry;
- Recognize and use standard technical writing principles, conventions, and formats appropriate and needed in the workplace;
- Develop and write their own creative works of prose and poetry;
- Provide constructive criticism to their peers; and
- Take in the constructive criticism of others in order to apply it to their own writing.
